On News12, Smithtown Dems Highlight Failures of Partisan Town Board

Smithtown Democrats, led by Councilwoman Candidate Sarah Tully (pictured above) led a rally demanding action by Smithtown officials to reopen Callahans Beach, closed for nearly two years due to Hurricane Ida in 2021. Despite receiving millions in federal aid to reopen this public amenity, Callahans Beach has remained closed.

Smithtown Democrats organize a rally attended by over 100 people at Town Hall in January 2023 to protest the hiring of Kevin Smith, of the so-called Long Island Loud Majority, a recognized anti-government group. Smith has targeted Smithtown residents and families, mostly surrounding school board issues, despite not having been a resident of Smithtown. The community came together, organized by Sarah Tully and other activists, and demanded that the Town rescind its job offer to Smith. Shortly after, it was reported that Smith withdrew from the job.
